The first new Ronart since the W152 was launched in a blaze of publicity at the 1999 London Motor Show. Arthur Wolstenholme was "assisted" by the TV's powerful Gladiator, Lightning, presumably only in fending off the eager Press.

The Ronart Lightning was pitched against the new Jensen V8, the TVR Tuscan, and the Lotus M250 V6 concept car.
Arthur seemed very encouraged by the large number of deposits taken at or around the Show.

The Electric Lightning

Ronart was an early proponent of the electric car concept at the Motor Show. Although it was a most striking design, unfortunately the project needed the vast financial resources of the world's major manufacturers.
